Newport: Iron & Steel making and its maritime connection

This event is presented jointly with Gwent Archives and Wales Broadcast Archive and Clip Cymru

Sian Lloyd Jones of Wales Broadcast Library and Rhiannon Phillips of Gwent Archives will present a short film and images from their collections focusing on the iron and steel industries in the town (now city), and the role of the docks in the economic boom that steel brought to the region.

Talks start at 2.00 pm

Booking is not essential. This is a free event. “Pill Mill” has a cafe. Light refreshments will be available.

Parking is available nearby. Please contact the secretary if you have specific accessibility needs.
