Monmouthshire Antiquarian Association welcomes new members.
If you have local connections or an interest in the history, landscape and archaeology of Monmouthshire then you will find plenty to interest you in our events and journal.
When you become a member you will receive a copy of the journal “The Monmouthshire Antiquary” every year, regular newsletters and invitations to the annual study day and the full programme of events. There are often opportunities to take part in hands-on archaeological activities and to join with other groups to enjoy a wide range of activities focused on the historic environment and rich culture of the county.
The association has close links with the National Roman Legion Museum. The Museum was originally founded by the association, and holds many finds rescued for posterity by past members, as well as housing the MAA library and committee room. The library is available to members for research purposes. Please visit the library page to access the catalogue and to find the access arrangements.
The association has survived into the twenty-first century and has a strong membership and an important role in fostering the county’s archaeological and historical heritage. We aim to provide enjoyment and foster friendship amongst like-minded people.
You will find useful links to other organisations on our useful links page.
